How to endorse spouse name in passport | How to change address on passport after marriage | What documents are required for adding spouse name in passport

After the marriage of any person, the first question in his mind is how to endorse spouse name on his passport. Now we discussed the detailed procedure of endorsement of spouse name after marriage.



DOCUMENTS REQUIRED:-


  • Previous passport
  • Adhaar Card
  • Spouse Adhaar Card with current address (The husband name must be mentioned on female's adhaar card after her marriage)
  • Marriage Certificate (Optional)
  • Matriculation Certificate (If available/Optional)



DETAILED PROCEDURE:-


First of all, contact any professional for the booking of your appointment. Then on the fixed day and time of the appointment, you should present in the passport office for photograph and fingerprint purpose. After the clearance of police verification, your passport will be dispatched between 15 to 30 days.


CAN I ADD SPOUSE NAME IN PASSPORT WITH MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE:-

                                      
Now marriage certificate is an optional document for the endorsement of spouse name in the passport. Now on the basis of updated adhaar card of female i.e. if husband name and address mentioned on his wife's adhaar card. Then they can proceed for a passport without a marriage certificate on the basis of Adhaar Card only.

Any type of reissue case the passport office now issue new passport booklet to the holder with the new passport number. The previous passport number always mentioned on the backside of a new passport.

    It is important to understand that when applying for a Expedited Passport, you must be able to give a valid reason for your request, and the government must approve the decision. If you are able to complete your travels with a single original passport, the expedited passport will not be issued.
