DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR THE REGISTRATION OF WILL:-


  • Adhaar Card, 02 Photographs and mobile number of the applicant.
  • 01 Adhaar Card of witness and mobile number
  • 01 Adhaar Card/ID Card and mobile number of Identifier (Sarpanch, Numberdar or M.C). 

DETAILED PROCESS:-

                                                   For the registration of Will first, you need to contact to any Advocate or Deed Writer commonly known as Vasika Nawis. He will demand above-said documents. After that, he will affix your appointment in the office of Sub-Registrar (Tehsildar Office) and prepare your Will draft. On the fixed appointment time you need to personally appear in the office of Sub-Registrar along with your original i.d proof and two witnesses. Applicant and both witnesses must be a resident of same village. When you read all the document and put your signature after deemed it correct and attested by two witnesses. Then the sub-registrar will register the same document and keep one copy of Will in his record.

  1. Will registration is not a mandatory requirement, it is purely optional. The validity or genuineness of a Will cannot be raised only based on its non-registration. Hence, Will registration is done only in selected circumstances. In this article, we look at the advantages, disadvantages and procedure for Will registration.
